The Yangtze River Delta covers the city of Shanghai, and provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. The Yangtze River Delta Regional Integrated Development is an important part of the national strategic planning and the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone is the most developed regional economy in China that is largest in scale with the largest urban density and it represents the highest level of economic development in China.

As the northern gate of Shanghai, Nantong plays a unique role in the Yangtze River Delta Integration with its advantages and strengths.
