The first data center of its scale in Indonesia to be BCA Green Mark Platinum certified
Jakarta | 25, September 2023 –Princeton Digital Group (PDG), Asia’s leading data center provider, today launched its 22MW hyperscale data center facility(JC2) in Greater Jakarta. Located in Cibitung, the campus is 35km from Jakarta’s Central Business District. The facility will deliver secure and scalable data center capacity to hyperscalers and enterprises, including large cloud, content, commerce, AI and fintech companies.
JC2 is designed for reliability and scalability, with energy efficient modular uninterrupted power systems and highly efficient chiller plants. It has achieved the rare feat of BCA Green Mark Platinum certification which requires high energy performance, resource stewardship and advanced green efforts. The data center campus is also the first in Indonesia to offer biomass powered capacity to its customers.
“Indonesia is one of the fastest growing economies in the world with a digital economy that is projected to exceed US$124 billion by 2025. Underpinned by favorable demographics, the country is witnessing ever-increasing cloud adoption, internet penetration and e-commerce growth. These tailwinds combined with and amplified by AI will drive accelerated demand in Indonesia,” said Varoon Raghavan, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of PDG. “The launch of JC2 further solidifies our position as a leading Pan-Asia data center operator enabling sustainable digital infrastructure growth in all the markets we operate in.”
“Predictable delivery is one of the key reasons PDG is the partner of choice for hyperscalers across Asia Pacific. JC2 is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the mission critical needs of our customers sustainably. In addition to growing our footprint in Indonesia, we are taking meaningful steps to ensure that we continue to progress on our sustainability commitments.”” Raghavan continued.
The launch of JC2 makes PDG one of Indonesia’s largest carrier-neutral, internet infrastructure operators, with six operational data centers in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and Pekanbaru. PDG is also developing a 96MW campus in Batam as part of its comprehensive SG+ strategy.
PDG is committed to achieving Net Zero for its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030. The company is a strong supporter of Indonesia’s renewable energy goals. Apart from procuring biomass power, the company secured geothermal energy in the form of RECs for three of its data centers in Jakarta, Bandung and Pekanbaru and was the first corporate buyer of state-owned electricity firm PLN’s RECs.
